Institute Presentation
Recent
work in our community has brought attention to the multiple
barriers to achieving good health in St. Louis and the consequent
poor health outcomes for our most disadvantaged community members.
What is it like to confront a system that does not work well?
How is the community coming together to improve wellness and
access to quality care? How are we in the faith community
called to listen to these concerns and work towards solutions?
How are congregations already engaged in health ministries?
Orvin
Kimbrough, Executive Director and Jennifer Strayhorn, Project
Director, Abraham's Children will take part in a forum about
healthcare in St. Louis. This event launches IP's 2004 focus
on healthcare and healthcare disparities in the St. Louis region

NCCJ
AND IJCU PROMOTE NEW STUDY GUIDE
THE
"I DARE YOU" CHALLENGE
Executive
Director, Orvin Kimbrough, launches the 2004 " I Dare You"
Tour. His threefold mission is to visit as many congregations
as is humanly possible in 2004 to: 1) Galvanize interest and
action around issues that affect us all as human beings - issues
like healthcare, or the lack thereof, poverty, war and intolerance
- these issues that rip at the very fabric of our community;
2) Stress the importance of financial and programmatic support
for the work of Interfaith Partnership and 3) Share a message
of peace and of hope that inspires our next generation of leaders
to be actively involved in the life of their congregation and
in the community.
To
that end, IP is seeking congregations or places of gathering
from any faith tradition, which will allow him to deliver the
keynote or sermon during a service or gathering. If you are
interested in hosting the "I Dare You" Tour please contact Irene
Randall, Executive Assistant, at (314) 531-4787 or e-mail.
